I cannot find the profiles I liked

Profiles that you like will disappear from your search results, but no worries they do not go into thin air. If you had liked someone's profile , that user will receive a notification that you had done so. That person will have a chance to review your profile and if he also likes you, then you will receive a match notification and now be able to start a conversation.
If you haven't received a 'Like' back, you still have a second chance to reach out to that person by sending them an Instant Message. Just go to the 'Likes' page and scroll to the 'Users I Liked' section and click on 'Send a Message' for any user you'd like to try to connect with again. If you still don't get a response from that person, don't give up and keep on liking!
